Petr Ushanov took helm of Rossiysky Credit. As the financial institution specified in a press release on Wednesday, hes held the position of the banks management board chairman since June 1. Previously Ushanov worked at the bank as a deputy management board chairman.
The board of directors approved his appointment on May 31 and earlier his candidature was agreed upon with the Chief Directorate of the Bank of Russia.
Ushanovs predecessor as the banks management board chairman, Pavel Lysenko, a board member, was appointed as a first vice president and will be in charge of strategic development, the bank said in a press release.
Ushanov began his banking career back in the late 1980s at the State Bank of the USSR, held executive positions for several years at the supervisory divisions of the Bank of Russia. Later he ran a commercial banks board of directors and in the late 1990s and early 2000s he headed temporary administration teams introduced by the Bank of Russia to run commercial banks. In 2007—2010 Ushanov was head of a division within the Bank of Russias department for regulation, management and monitoring of the payment system.
Ushanov holds a PhD degree and is a lecturer at the Financial University attached to the Russian government, said the banks representatives.
