Kirov-based Vyatka-Bank could buy a credit portfolio of troubled Ecoprombank, Ecoprombank co-owner Vladimir Nelyubin said in an interview with news portal Properm.Ru.
“Presently the Kirov-based bank is being reviewed from the point which lender will buy our credit portfolio," Nelyubin commented. He also said that the previously announced idea of a merger with the Kirov-headquartered bank is no longer on the table.
Last week the lending institution was hit by a media attack. In the upshot, deposit holders rushed to take their money back. The bank had to make a list of those willing to close deposit accounts and also ceased to accept new deposits. The media wired in the middle of the week that the bank got a first tranche of Rub 80 mln which it plans to use to make settlements with deposit holders.
As the lending institutions press service told Banki.ru on Thursday, the financial institution suspended the service of its bank cards. The banks representatives said that the bank is trying to find a buyer for its credit portfolio and is selling assets. As reported by Ecoprombank deputy management board chairman Vadim Manin, the bank needs Rub 270 mln to get corporate payments back to normal.
