RAMBLER NEWS SERVICE. The Central Bank of Russia has so far not intended to sell its stake in the Moscow Exchange, said Elena Kuritsyna, head of the regulator's corporate relations department, at the exchange's annual shareholders meeting.
"Some legislative amendments have been made, allowing the Bank of Russia to remain a shareholder with the stake currently held. Why such a decision was taken? I think that the answer here is more or less evident, including because not only the Bank of Russia, but also national leaders, Duma members who approved the relevant amendments and decided relevantly assessed the current economic environment, assessed a role played by the Bank of Russia in stabilizing these conditions, and it was decided that this stake will be preserved," said Kuritsyna.
"Not yet," she said when asked whether prospects of the sale or the holding of the stake in the Moscow Exchange are clear.
To remind, the Bank of Russia presently holds a 11.768% stake in the bourse.
