The National Rating Agency (NRA) has bestowed an individual creditworthiness rating of BBB+ (sufficient liquidity, level one) on commercial bank Legion (Moscow), the agency’s press service reported. “Legion is an active player on the financial market, has the reputation of a reliable partner and counterparty and is traditionally a net donor on the inter-bank lending market," a press release said.
“Its long corporate history, long-term customer relations, the conservative approach towards accepted risks amid the current environment on the Russian financial market, the steady structure of ownership and of the management team, high corporate governance standards practiced at the bank are positive factors," NRAs press service pointed out.
According to the data from Banki.ru and news agency Interfax-CEA, as of February 1, 2009 Legion ranked 272nd among Russian banks in terms of net assets (Rub 5.21 bln). The lending institution is a member of the national deposit insurance system.
