On March 18, 2009 the committee for banking supervision at the Bank of Russia took a decision to provide New Credit Union with a license to attract household deposits in rubles and foreign currencies, the PR department of the Central Bank of Russia reported. In accordance with the effective legislation the bank will obtain membership in the national deposit insurance system.
According to the data from Banki.ru and news agency Interfax-CEA, as of January 1, 2009 net assets of New Credit Union stood at Rub 789.5 mln (707th place in Russia).
