RIA NOVOSTI. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev thinks the Russian Federation successfully passed the most difficult phase of the economic crisis.
“I agree, some problems still need resolution and the global financial crisis is not over yet. But, as I see, we ultimately passed the hardest phase of the crisis, and did this together, consistently and successfully,“ he said Monday at a ceremony to grant state awards to politicians, men of science and culture in the Kremlin. “We still need to meet a range of objectives next year, both financial and social. But I am confident we are able to get it done,” the President noted.
According to Medvedev, Russia has entered a period when it is necessary not only to strengthen the state and forge a frame of life for the future, but also to think how to promote development in all areas.
The President expressed hopes that in 2010 Russia “will really fare slightly better than in 2009”.
