Mikail Shishkhanov has been elected to run MDM Bank, taking the seat of the bank's management board chairman. This decision was adopted at the lending institution's board meeting that was held on July 14. Timur Avdeenko has been approved as a first deputy management board chairman.
B&N Bank co-owners Mikail Shishkhanov and Mikhail Gutseriev signed in June 2015 an agreement to buy a controlling interest (58.33%) in MDM Bank from Sergei Popov.
As MDM Bank board chairman Oleg Vyugin pointed out, "more than 20 years of Mikail Shishkhanov's successful hands-on experience on the banking market and his profound understanding of banking business will contribute to setting up one of the largest private lending institutions on the Russian market".
Mikail Shishkhanov was born in 1972. He obtained a master's degree with honors at the Faculty of Economics and Law of the People's Friendship University of Russia in 1995, and graduated from the Financial Academy attached to the Russian Government in 2000. In 1998 he defended his dissertation seeking a degree in law, and a doctoral degree in economics in 2002. He is an associate member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
Starting 1992 Mikail Shishkhanov, being an university student, began to work at B&N Industrial & Financial Company, and got the seat of the general director within a short period of time. In June 1994 he joined joint stock commercial bank B&N, serving as the head of the division to establish inter-bank ties and represented the bank in the regions, a deputy management board chairman and VP.
From 1996 till July 2015 he was B&N Bank president and management board chairman. At present, he chairs the lending institution's board of directors.
