Customers of Vologda-based Promenergobank are unable to conduct all operations. As the lending institution's additional office Vodniki told Banki.ru, the bank expects its license to be cancelled this or next week.
"We get no cash from the head office, cash balances are zero. Now we have no cash in hand and only provide consultations to our customers," Promenergobank said, adding that the bank is now in such a position that it expects its license to be cancelled. The lending institution noted that the Bank of Russia imposed a ban on all operations.
The bank's executives were not available for comment, with management board chairman Alexander Postnov was out of reach as he was on a business trip, while the bank's head of the financial and economic department Elena Paramonova declined to comment.
Promenergobank has been cut off the Banking Electronic Speedy Payment (BESP) system since July 26, 2016, Banki.ru wired quoting its sources. The bank said that customer operations were conducted as usual. A day prior to this day Russian rating agency RAEX (Expert RA) has lowered Promenergobank's creditworthiness rating to pre-default C++.
Promenergobank ranks 377th among Russian banks by assets. During the first half of 2016 the bank's assets declined by nearly a quarter to Rub 3.7 bln. Over 50% of the assets falls to corporate loans (Rub 2.4 bln) that were funded by retail deposits (Rub 2.3 bln as of July 1).
During two days of June Promenergobank violated its capital adequacy ratio (N1) and the maximum ratio of the big credit risk (N7).
