General Prosecutor’s Office Pays a Visit to One More Bank

Following the MDM Bank, Russian prosecutors have paid a visit to the Neftyanoy bank. The press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office reiterated that the visit was part of the investigation of a criminal case about illegal banking transactions regarding money laundering. The action has nothing to do with the Neftyanoy bank, bank managers said, rather a bank client. Prosecutors are interested in transactions performed by former bank management in 2004 before the bank joined the Russian deposit insurance system. Searches in banks have yet to affect the market.
