Moscow-based AMI-Bank has finalized the takeover of Murmansk-registered Barentsbank, the PR department of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation said in a statement.
On the basis of Barentsbank AMI-Bank will open branches in Murmansk, Petrozavodsk and Nizhny Novgorod.
Barentsbank is a small regional bank by net assets. The bank was established at the end of 1992. The lending institutions major shareholders are Nikolay Egorov (25%), Tandem Standart LLC (19.55%, its beneficial owners are Nikolay Gordeev and Kirill Korelin), Ladius LLC (18.75%, Andrey Prokofiev is its beneficial owner), Oksiria LLC (18.65%, the beneficial owner is Galina Sokolovskaya) and Eksttekh LLC (18.04%, the beneficial owners are Valentin Kurilov and Igor Stoyakin). It should be noted that Baretsbanks takeover by Moscow-based AMI-Bank was initiated on February 8, 2012.
Based on Banki.ru data, as of April 1, 2012 the lenders net assets totaled Rub 3.12 bln (450th in Russia), capital (calculated in line with CBR requirements) totaled Rub 440 mln, the credit portfolio amounted to Rub 2.21 bln and obligations to households came to Rub 1.58 bln.
AMI-Bank CJSC was founded in 1993. In line with the data disclosed, the banks major shareholders are four limited liability companies (IFK AMI (32.95%), Eksttekh (20%), Ladius (20%) and Oksiria (18.07%)). The beneficial owners are the Kharebovs family of entrepreneurs (Vladimir, Irina and Soslan) who control around 51.02% of AMI-Bank shares, 20% stakes are in the hands of lawyer Nikolay Egorov and Zoya Karaya, business partner of Soslan Kharebov. The banks key business focus is securities transactions and loans issued mainly to households. The bulk of funds is raised on the inter-bank lending market, and clients funds held on the banks accounts account for less than 50% of the lending institutions liabilities. According to the media, AMI-Bank would most likely be turned into a branch of Murmansk-headquartered Barentsbank.
