Kazakhstan-based Tsesnabank (Astana) intends to up its holding in the charter capital of Russia-based Plyus Bank to 100%. Tsesnabank's board of directors decided so on April 15, said a press release posted on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange's website.
Based on Plyus Bank's data as of March 30, Tsesnabank held a 19.97% interest in the Russian lending institution's capital.
Tsesnabank is going to upsize its equity position by buying Plyus Bank's preferred and common shares for no higher than $17.37 mln, the exchange specified in the press release.
As of early April 2015 Plyus Bank posted a loss of Rub 313.14 mln and negative ROE (64.57%). Last August Plyus Bank changed its registered office, relocating from Omsk to Moscow (bldg. 1, Izvestkovy Pereulok). "The relocation to Moscow will help the bank become more efficient in running its fast-growing units," Plyus Bank's press service reported.
