Sergei Budkin, the Ukrainian expert in purchase-sale deals for banks, is getting ready to corner a share of the Russian market. Sergei Budkin is FINPOINT LLC INVESTMENTs co-owner and managing partner. Over the past three years, he organised deals for the purchase of 16 Ukrainian banks, with most of them sold to foreign investors. Specifically, AVAL was sold to RAIFFEISEN, PRIVAT INVEST to the Czech PPF group and INDEX BANK to the French CREDIT AGRICOLE bank. Now, the Ukrainian entrepreneur is registering the Russian FINPOINT company which will buy and sell businesses in Russia. Budkin became known in Russia just after the Scandinavian bank group NORDEA, the former INTERNATIONAL MOSCOW BANKs shareholder, bought 85.7% of ORGRESBANK. The Ukrainian FINPOINT was the deals consultant. After the deal was closed, Budkin announced plans to sell assets in Russia.
